Shabby Chandelier

I wrote a post earlier this week about a chandelier I found at a yard sale.     This shabby chic beauty was $25.00 which I thought was an excellent price.     It came with a bagful of glass crystals and several pink ceramic roses.

All week long I have “googled” and “binged” chandeliers trying to find a chandy like this  and I finally found a similar one which was described as being from the 1930’s.   I have no way of knowing if my chandelier is actually vintage or not but I would like to think it is.   Regardless I am thrilled to have found it and think it looks perfect above the dining table in our coastal Alabama home.

Do you think it is vintage?

Take care friends.    I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving!

From Fruitful to Sparkly

On my way to the office Friday morning I stopped at a yard sale even though I knew it would make me  late to work.  Usually I am a conscientious worker, but tempt me with a yard sale and all bets are off.

For some time now, I have wanted to replace this colorful fruity light fixture that came with the house but haven’t had much luck finding the “perfect” one.

And if I hadn’t stopped at that yard sale, I wouldn’t have found the replacement which is shown here in the back of my car.   The white shabby color was just what I wanted and at the low price of $25.00, I knew this was the one.  I cleaned it up, wrapped it in the crystals that came with it (minus the pink roses), and then my handy hubby installed it for me.

The glass crystals sparkle in the light and help with the open airy feeling I am trying to create in here.

Thank you for visiting today!
