Greenhouses, Globes & Gnomes

I was checking out blogs that are new to me and found one that caught my eye….Jenny Matlock.     Her Alphabe-Thursday party  sounded like fun to me so I thought I would join in on the fun.    This week’s letter is G.

The letter G immediately made me think of greenhouse.    We are expecting our first frost later this week so all my plants are now in the greenhouse that my hubby built a few years back.

You can see my pink mandevilla and red begonias still blooming.

I took a stroll around my house to see what else I had that began with the letter G and found this globe that has been in my family for over 50 years.    I have no idea how old it really is.

The camels were a gift from my sister-in-law.    She purchased them on a trip to Jerusalem.    I bought the little wooden elephants when I was in high school so they are about 20 years old.   HA!

And last but not least, here is a pic of my favorite gnome.

And yes, that is a Christmas tree he is standing in front of.     It is my nature Christmas tree that I always put up in October and don’t take down until February.    I will show more of it in later posts.

Thank you Jenny for sponsoring the letter G.     Guess I will say Goodbye now.

I like that gnome - it reminds me of that French movie, Amelie in which she has a flight attendant take her father's gnome to various places and send him polaroids of the gnome in those places, it's a wonderful, quirky move, check it out

Awesome G post. I so wish I had a greenhouse! I must say, I don't have a gnome, but I really do think they are cute.

I'm surprised that you're going to have a frost in Mississippi. I wish I had a greenhouse. When they predict a freeze it's usually north of here so last year I left all my plants outside and lost most of them. I think it was the first time we had a good freeze in all the years I've lived here. A few came back and I'm still nursing them along. What a pretty old globe and I like your nature Christmas tree with the gnome.

I'm so jealous of your greenhouse! I really want to build one someday. It's a time issue, maybe when I retire!!

What a cute little greenhouse. We are always looking for ideas for a greenhouse, so I'll have to show yours to The Great Dane.

And what a GGGGGreat post you shared with us today. Love the greenhouse and I have always been infatuated with those gnomes...in a non-predatory way, of course, ha!

Thanks for the smile and the lovely link.

You are a Gem.
