Nobody Puts Baby Chick in the Trash!

While out walking my dog this morning, I saw a box on the curb in my neighbor’s trash pile.    Of course I had to peek in there.    Imagine my surprise when I found this canister in perfect condition!

The momma chick is happily sitting on her eggs while one baby chick has hatched on the lid.     Love the detail on this piece especially the “chicken wire”.   The bottom of the canister is marked Sears Roebuck & Co.; 1978; Japan.   The colors are vibrant and oh so 70’s.

Most of the other items in the box were unsalvageable junk (not the good kind of junk) but I did manage to rescue this wall cross which will probably be given a distressed white shabby chic look.

Thank you for visiting with me!   I always love to have you here and hope you will return again.

The chicks and I will be partying with Linda at Coastal Charm.

Wow, I can't believe someone would throw that canister away! It is adorable! And the cross, I just don't think I could throw away a cross... Glad you rescued them. Visiting via Coastal Charm link party.

What a great find, people do throw away the greatest things "one woman junk is another's treasure" is what I say.
